TV Viewer Stats
How many viewers watch Dressage .com tv? |
The network began
to have viewer stats December 2007. TV industry analysts say the stats are unreliable and
skewed toward large cities not in our viewing audience.. An ad
agency researched and said the minimum number of viewers is
200,000 (about 6.7 times the circulation of US Dressage
Federation Connection
magazine
and about 2.5 times US Equestrian Federation magazine). A breed organization that
recently aired a one time breed special on this network estimated
that 1 million viewers watched this program based on the increased
web site traffic to their website.
The network broadcasts to over 30 million households across the US
in the family (basic) package of Dish and Direct as well as
expanding to cable including Comcast, Media com and soon Verizon. The
network also broadcasts in Brazil.
Korea, Australia and SE Asia have inquired about the possibility of airing
Dressage.com tv. |
| Network
Target Audience |
The network began as an
educational channel aimed at agriculture (full time farmers and
ranchers) and the country lifestyle markets (outside city limits,
3+ acres, not in full time farming and ranching). In 2007,
the network switched to commercial. |

2005 was the first time
international dressage was included in World Cup Las Vegas.
The event originally planned to sell only the lower tiers of
tickets until it could gradually build the audience for
dressage. Until I traveled to Germany in 1995 and saw my
first international level dressage competition, I had only seen
one grand prix test. International level dressage is a
completely different level. I knew that many Americans could
or would not travel abroad and this was a rare opportunity to see
the best of international dressage in the US.
I offered to promote World Cup Las Vegas 2005 on Dressage.com and
on Dressage.com tv. Our group was the single largest
group at World Cup 2005, over 20% of the four day dressage event
ticket packages sold were Dressage.com members.
At World Cup Las Vegas 2007, Pat
Christenson raved: "Ky is the reason dressage sold
out." [Show jumping was not a sell out. Even in
Europe, show jumping popularity far exceeds dressage] |
