Christine who was born in
the Hanover area of Germany returned to dressage in 1997. She
helps her husband, Bernie Traurig with show jumpers at their stable in
California. She spent most of 1999 training and competing in Germany
including Neumunster

Rode horses for Verden Auction. Her talent was noted early, and she received help from the Schemzers, who run the
auction and have made it one of the top horse auctions in the world. Invited
to the US by world-class rider/trainer Bernie Traurig, she eventually married
him. They have 2 children.
Christine has trained and competed several horses at Grand Prix, but feels
that Etienne is perhaps the most special -- "and requires the velvet glove
treatment".
Christine feels that the most important thing a rider can do is try to
understand the horse and make the work easy. Her advice to other riders might
include: "remember--the ride is always the rider's responsibility." Which
might sound simple and obvious, but is not...
