Beth Glass & Falcao

Beth to Walk for Breast Cancer OK, I need y'all's support.

I am not used to asking for money, but I need sponsors for my next big venture. I am walking in the Breast Cancer 3-day walk here in Arizona, and must raise $2,200 to be able to walk.

85% of the money raised will be split between the foundation that funds free mammograms for the poor and the Susan G. Kommen Foundation.

The walk will be incredible. It means walking a total of 60 miles in 3 days. It will take place in Phoenix, and I am looking forward to the challenge.

I have gotten my walking up to 20 miles a week, and in addition am doing Pilates 2X, resistance training 2X, Water Aerobics 2X, riding horses when I can, and working and finding time for DH.

And that is just a week!

Please help me by donating to the cause. To donate, go to www.the3day.com and click "Donate" Click "Arizona" and enter my name, Elizabeth Glass. It will take you to my fundraising page, and you can donate from there, or print a donation form to mail in.

If you have any questions, feel free to contact me at quilthorse@att.net

I am not sure I have done this right, and I know Ky will chastise me if I have done the wrong thing. But $2.2K is a lot to raise, and I really want to do this walk. Not just to raise money for breast cancer research and prevention, but to prove to myself that I CAN!

He's Here!!!!!!!!!

What a big horse! He is a lovely bay Westphalian with just the tiniest star and 2 white back feet. He is a real athlete. Despite the fact that he is tall, he is not big, and hits the ground like a feather. He doesn't make a lot of noise in the arena, and seems to be a very solid citizen. He is still looking, but he figures things out quickly.

I know that he competed last year at the German equivalent of 3rd level and won a championship. He is now going 4th, schooling PSG.

I will take him down to 2nd with the aim to get my last score at that level for my bronze, and to do a couple of 1st level freestyles if I can for my freestyle Bronze Bar. But that is all in the future.

I watched Scarlett ride him today, and it was beautiful. He is still a little stiff from his trip, we didn't ride him long, but the movements are all there, almost appearing effortless.

Around the barn he is interested in everything that goes on around him, and seems to like all the horses in the barn. He is always looking for a touch on the nose or a pat, or just a word. He is really sweet. Luckily most of my tack fits him, but we need to get the saddle adjusted, and the fitter will be here on Thursday to do that. He has long thorobred-like withers, and a short back.

Some of his pedigree is impressive his great sire was Furioso, and on his sire's other side is Lugano. I don't know a lot about bloodlines yet, but I have heard of these 2 horses. I am really looking forward to riding him, which I get to do after we are sure the saddle fits him.
