A leaf caught in the wind
Darted and danced as it floated to earth,
Brought her to mind
As though she ever drifts far
From thoughts that still weep and smile.
She’d stamp her foot,
Either an errant fly
Or lack of patience
That the world again was not
In accord with her wishes.
She was not easy to know,
parts hidden, displayed only
When special occasions needed
The power of her being,
The deep warm self within.
When all was soft and proper,
We are joined as night and stars.
Mysteries of the universe unfold,
Blood pumped by the other’s heart
Share music heard only in dreams.
