100- Day Test
-
The 100 Day Stallion
Test is a three month plus test for young stallions to determine
their suitability to be used as breeding stallions. The
stallions are ridden by professional riders under the supervision of a
head trainer in jumping, dressage and cross country. They are
graded daily by the riders and head trainer. A final exam with
guest riders and judges in all three aspects is added for the final
results stated as a final point total, Dressage Index and Jumping
Index. Character, temperament, ability to work, willingness to
work, jumping ability, walk, trot, canter, rideability - dressage,
show jumping, free jumping and rideability - jumping are judged.
In the US, there is one 100 Day Test for all breeds every other
year. The location rotates from the East to West coast.
Three year olds and up can be tested with deductions for age to level
the results.
