Farbenfroh instead of Gracioso
in the team for Aachen

The decision was surprising, but somehow it was not: Nadine Capellmann will represent the German team with Farbenfroh at the CHIO Aachen 2000. Last weekend, the 10-year-old son of Freudentänzer convinced the DOKR-Dressage Committee at the tournament in Nörten-Hardenberg with two second placements in Grand Prix and Grand Prix Special. Gracioso, the World and European Championship horse was fourth with a good effort at the Hardenberger Grand Prix. "We have to risk something sometimes. Farbenfroh is more convincing at the moment, even when he does funny things sometimes", comments Anton Fischer (Würselen), head of the DOKR-Dressage Committee, the decision for the agile chestnut. "If Farbenfroh stands the test in Aachen, he will also start in Sydney." Alexandra Simons-de Ridder (Aachen) on Chacomo were "up and above" the rest. She made up her backlog, which was caused by illness, and her horse in on its way back to top-form.

"The Aachen train is running to Sydney", Fischer doesn’t see anyone who could steal these two tickets for the Olympics." The German dressage equipe will be completed by Ulla Salzgeber (Bad Wörrishofen) and Isabell Werth (Rheinberg). At CHIO Aachen, the Olympic Champion will present her top-horse Gigolo in all three competitions, namely Grand Prix, Grand Prix Special and Grand Prix Freestyle, for the first time this year.
