Personal victory for me last month: I returned to competition at the Grand Prix
level at the Pinehurst fall show, earning a 56 and 56.8% with my Bordeaux (David). He and
I have been working all year to regain enough strength and coordination to sustain that
much collection, and we were both well prepared and confidant. It was our first Grand Prix
outing since 1993, since before I became disabled.
I will also be on the Nat. Georgraphic special on Nov. 14.
This past weekend I am happy to report that my young horse, Augenblick, and I placed 8th
at the Bengt Ljungquist Memorial Dressage Finals at Training Level Section B (for riders
who have ridden above third level), against many very fancy horses. 64 horses qualified
for this division. I was very proud of my youngster and doubly proud to hopefully pave the
way for other disabled riders to get out there and be competitive.
Off to the Schumacher clinic tomorrow. I also have a piece in Along the Way.

I'm going to the Schumacher clinic this weekend, and I can't wait!!
I audited the YR clinic he did at Temple Farm this April, it was
amazing! A lot of the kids I met at the NEJYRC are going. He is giving a clinic at Lendon
Gray's Tuesday-Thursday this week that some of the kids from the NEJYRC are riding in. I
know Courtney Budd and Jessie Rizzi are riding in it and they're members, right? My mom
and I are also staying at the Best Western so maybe we'll see you!
